Everybody Hates the Ninth-Grade Dance is the 20th episode of Season 3.
Plot[]
When Chris becomes the only boy in school without a date for the ninth-grade dance, Greg suggests he ask a loner girl without a date. She accepts, but trouble ensues when word gets out about the inter-racial pairing. Meanwhile, Rochelle gets excited about. Chris comes to the dance by himself and apologises for cancelling on the loner girl and offers to dance, with her accepting. The next morning Chris sees Carrie and offers her to go lunch with him, Carrie replies just saying that she wanted to the dance at that’s it and that if he wants a friend he can talk to someone else. It then cuts to a girl with Chris staring at her in a weird way with her replying “Quit staring at me, bug eyes.” The “Everybody Hates Chris” jingle plays over Chris looking embarrassed, ending the episode.

- Tony Rock, the real life brother of Chris Rock, guest stars in this episode for the first time as Julius' brother Ryan, also known as uncle Ryan.
- In the episode, the girl was shown in a flashback from Everybody Hates the Pilot, when Chris had a fight against Caruso, but in the episode Everybody Hates the Pilot she wasn't seen at the fight.
