Bed-Stuy in real life
Bed-Stuy is the main setting in Everybody Hates Chris. It is based on the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City in the 1980s. Bed-Stuy is where Chris and his family live. Bed-Stuy is mostly residential, although there are some businesses, such as Doc's. All Bed-Stuy residents are black, except for a white man named Kris, as seen in Everybody Hates Kris. The population of Bed-Stuy is unknown in Everybody Hates Chris, but it is estimated that it is about 120,000 since that was the population in 1980.
